On February 17, 1994, Efrain Goldenberg Schreiber was sworn in as prime minister of Peru. Mr. Goldenberg was foreign relations minister prior to this office. He has had a prominent role in the business community as chairperson of the National Fisheries Society and director of the Fund for the Promoting of Exports.
Efrain Goldenberg was born on December 29, 1929, in Lima, Peru. He studied humanities and law at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima from 1946 to 1952. He has been a business entrepreneur since 1951 and a member of the board of several companies linked to international trade.
